National Shopping Service provides a variety of market research, audit, inspection and other feedback resources to companies in the financial, retail, dining and service industries. The company pays home-based mystery shoppers to investigate on behalf of clients and to create reports about their shopping experiences. Shoppers design their own schedules and choose assignments based on location, industry, compensation and interest.
When registering, be ready to provide home and work contact information as well as a demographic profile that includes your age, gender, languages spoken, education and ethnicity. You will also be asked if you are certified as a mystery shopper or have a private investigator’s license, but neither of these is required to register. The company is based in the U.S. and offers services in other countries and languages as well.
Mystery shoppers for National Shopping Service are paid as independent contractors. Each available shopping assignment specifies a base payout, and many also offer a bonus. Shoppers are paid by mailed check at the end of each month for the jobs completed the prior month. This means you can expect to receive payment between one and two months after completing a shopping assignment.
