To apply as a LiveWorld moderator, you must be at least 18 years old. It doesn’t matter where you live; the company welcomes all U.S. and foreign-based applications.
You should be familiar with the various types of online community content and social media. You should also be well versed with online community activities and types of content, such as blogs, videos, images, audio and discussion boards.
In addition to this, LiveWorld looks for excellent communication skills as well as competent computer and typing skills. Previous moderator experience and an active social presence are both desirable qualities, but are not required. For obvious reasons, ownership of an up-to-date computer and a reliable high-speed internet connection are necessary.
All moderators must be fluent in English. However, there is a growing need for bilingual moderators as LiveWorld expands to offer moderation services in more and more languages.
Currently, LiveWorld is actively recruiting individuals who are fluent in Brazilian Portuguese, Indonesian Bahasa, Turkish, Polish and Dutch. Be sure to state on your application if you are able to provide bilingual services!
The application form is available online. Take your time when filling it out as it is quite lengthy. You wouldn’t want to miss any questions.
You will need to fill out your name, address, availability and expected rate of pay. The application also asks for details on any professional moderation experience you may have. You will also be asked to fill out both your professional and personal experiences with various social media.
Once you complete the application, submit it for consideration. The time it takes for LiveWorld to get back to you will vary depending on the amount of applications they receive at that time. They will notify you of your acceptance via e-mail as soon as possible.
Prior to starting work, you will have to participate in live training sessions which are offered for free online. These sessions will help you to familiarize yourself with LiveWorld’s tools and applications so that you can feel more comfortable on the job.
Moderator responsibilities include monitoring and managing user content, such as forum or Facebook comments, providing brand-appropriate responses and alerting the client about user-content trends and concerns in need of further attention.
Work as a moderator consists of consistent content moderation, which involves regularly sweeping the client’s content. This can include Facebook wall posts and comments, message boards, chat boards, blog entries, videos, pictures, and/or audio files.
