While cases at the courthouse typically take on juries of 12 people, cases at eJury are tried to a minimum of 50 people. This provides the lawyers with a spectacular amount of feedback that he/she can use to find strengths and weaknesses in the evidence, discover the most effective arguments, establish a settlement value and learn public attitudes, among other things.

You can join as an online juror today. Read on to find out how you can sign up and start exercising your good judgement for a great cause!

Getting Started

The qualifications to become a juror at eJury are very similar to actual jury duty requirements. You must be at least 18 years old, a citizen of the United States and have never been convicted of a felony. You must also be of sound mind and good moral character with the ability to read and write.

In addition to the qualifications above, eJury also requires that you complete an “oath” during the sign-up process. By completing the oath, you swear that you are not a practicing lawyer, paralegal or other legal professional, you are not employed or associated with any lawyer or law firm and you are not employed as an insurance adjuster nor are you associated with the adjusting of liability claims. This guarantees that the jury’s feedback will be valuable and genuine. The oath also assures that online juries will be reflective of regular juries that might appear in a real courthouse.

If you meet these terms, you’re more than welcome to sign up! There are no charges or costs associated with signing up to be a juror. All you need to do is complete the sign up form, submit your demographic profile and agree to the terms and conditions on the eJury website.

Earning Money

There is no guarantee that cases will be available as soon as you sign up. Cases are assigned based on your location as well as your demographic details. So don’t worry if there isn’t anything for you right away. Just have a little patience and we promise something will come up soon! That being said, eJury should be viewed more as supplemental income to pad your wallet or purse and not as a fulltime income opportunity – it’s just not steady enough to count on.

All eJury cases follow a similar process. First, the lawyer will prepare his or her case submission which contains the facts from the perspectives of the plaintiff and the defendant. The case submission will also include the jury questions which would be used in the trial as well as personal questions that are designed to obtain additional feedback.

Second, eJury posts the lawyer’s case submission to a secure location on their website. The chosen jurors are then notified via email that a new case has been posted.

Third, the jurors log in, review the facts and answer the questions. Once they are finished they click “submit verdict”. As soon as the minimum number of verdicts has been received, the case is closed. eJury will post a case summary at a later date for those who are interested in the results.
