Setup a free eBay account to get started selling on eBay. Once you are ready to start listing products, just click the “sell” link on the top of the page. Adding a descriptive name for the product will help buyers find it easily. You will also get to choose the condition the item is in (new or used), and add photos here. Take high quality images so buyers can clearly see the item you are selling. Add extra information in the description box so that the buyer has all required information before they make the purchase. You can choose between an auction or fixed price sale, as well as add shipping costs and add information about the areas you will not ship to. Click “list it” and you’re done!
There are many ways you can boost your eBay earnings. Before you list an item, look through similar listings on eBay to see the price range it sold for. You can also note down which listings expired (no sale was made) and see if you can improve on their descriptions and title choice.
Offering free shipping is a great way of attracting buyers to your listing, as they can filter for listings with “free shipping”. You can also offer a money back guarantee to help boost the buyers’ trust in you. Before you accept a bid from a buyer, check their feedback and decline “problem buyers”. You might have issues getting them to pay on time or getting a 5-star feedback from them.
Make sure the images you use are very high quality. Take them in good lighting. Make sure the product is clearly shown, as well as any defects or issues are highlighted in the images. Add at least 4-6 images from different angles.
Try and preemptively answer questions buyers might have. You can add an FAQ section to your listing to answer questions about the product and shipping.
All sellers get a certain number of free listings (varying from 50 – 100 depending on category), after which you might pay a fee between $0.05 – $0.3 per listing (depending on category). eBay also charges a 10% fee on the final sale value, after you have sold the item.
Once a sale is made, eBay automatically transfers money to your Paypal (with a hold on it). The hold is removed once one of the following conditions is met: the buyer submits positive feedback, the shipment is confirmed delivered via tracking code or 21 days have passed. You can then withdraw the money from your Paypal account at your convenience.
