eBay is an e-commerce website best known for its auction-style sales. eBay operates in 30 different countries around the world and has made it a cinch for anyone to sell new, lightly used, or vintage products online. eBay is great way to earn extra cash and can even be a way of life for those who earn a living selling products on their very own eBay stores. eBay also offers a great app that helps store owners manage their stores on the go. Once sellers list items on the site, there is minimal involvement required until an item sells.
The eBay website is intended for adults 18 years of age or older. It’s free to create an account but a valid credit card, debit card or bank account is necessary to complete setup for sellers. Products are also free to list up to a certain amount (50 – 100 depending on the category). Note that eBay has strict policies about listing and selling items on the site. There are restrictions about what can be listed as well as how an item is listed. These policies are in effect to protect not only eBay but also its sellers and buyers, so be sure to read and understand them fully before proceeding. You’ll also want to post pictures of the product with each listing, so make sure you have access to a camera (a smartphone camera works well!).
Earnings potential will vary contingent on what is being sold and for how much as well as sales volume. Keep in mind that some items may be in higher demand than others. After an items sells, eBay will retain 10% of the final sale value while the remaining amount is disbursed to the seller via PayPal.
